We then flew on over to Kauai. What an amazing place. The only downside to this
Island, is that it is hard to find a condo that has air conditioning. We stayed on the
south shore in the Poi pu beach area. We rented a 2 Bd condo.

This Island is all about beauty. Words alone can not express it. The following are
pictures of the Island. There are captions below the thumbnails at the bottom
right. I started on the south west part of the Island and worked over to the north

Another way to experience the islands beauty is to take a
helicopter tour. We had a clear wonderful day. We were
able to fly into the crater or Mount Waiʻaleʻale. The wettest
place on earth. You will see the many waterfalls on the
inside of the crater.

Of course no first trip to Hawaii would be
compete with out a Luau

We went to the coconut palms hotel for their luau. It was not on the
beach but it Had a nice covered thatched roof pavilion. I know that it
later burned down. I think that the fire dancer got out of control.
The food was wonderful. As you look at the pictures you will see
that the evening started off very tranquil but soon things got a little
wild. The open bar with Mai tai's may have had something to do
with it.
Unfortunately you can not see the Chris' Aloha wear is all of sponge
BOB in aloha wear ukulele etc.(use the zoom on the first pic in slide
show and you can see it pretty well)
