Leaving Hawaii is always a sad event.  Tonight more so than ever.  Right out side of the
gate there is live Hawaiian music and dancing.  I miss you already…

This trip to Hawaii was especially magical. Other than spending the first night in
Honolulu, the rest of the trip was on the island of Maui.  We rented a condo in the
Kaanapali area.  Every other time we have stayed in south Maui in the Keihe area.  It
was nice to stay on the west side of the island because it was very close, 2 min, from
where my conference was held.  Usually we have a 45 min drive from south  Maui.   We
stayed at a property called the Maui El Dorado. It is part of the Outrigger chain, but we
were able to rent a unit cheaper directly with the owner.  VBRO.COM It was only about
a 10 min walk to the beach at black rock.  This is a wonderful beach with views of both
Molokai and Lanai   The weather and the surf cooperated as well this trip.  We did very
little driving This trip with was also very nice.

Since I did not keep daily blog I will try and hit some of the highlight from this trip.  On
thing about Hawaii is that the food is incredible. We ate the first night at Zippys.  There
serve a pacific fusion type food at very reasonable prices.  We also ate there on night
on Maui.  We had some wonderful Chinese food in Lihania Fun Lin  I think was the
name.  An old staple right on the beach is Lailanis.  We ate there  at total of three times.
The ono fish and chips are out of this world, but our new favorite are the fish tacos.
What would a trip to Hawaii be with out a trip to L&L Hawaiian Barbeque.  Lastly we
took Lynn to here first real sushi bar, conveyer? Belt and all.  She did play it safe
however.

The rest of this time we ate in and cooked some wonderful local fish.  We had Ono,
Monchong, Opaha and Ahi Tuna steaks.  We also had beef short ribs and some rather
large rib eye steaks.

We only drove to south Maui one afternoon to try one of our old favorite beaches.
